Informed by my heritage, oil & acrylic paintings explores the mythology, symbology and visual culture of Southeast Asia.
Awareness of indigenous & pre-colonial traditions is amplified through the lens of mysticism and modern psychedelia.
Knotwork, pattern work, symbolism, and precise mathematics express the sacred relationship between the natural world and atavistic realms of Spirit.
Bio
Aiyana Rosalani is a first generation Filipino/Chinese-American artist, established in Colorado, USA. Her multidisciplinary practice includes oil/acrylic painting, murals, shibari and fire performance.
Since receiving her BFA from RMCAD in 2020, she travels internationally, creating murals abroad, live painting at festivals, and exhibiting in gallery spaces - most notably Mirus Gallery, Envision Festival, Dateline Gallery and many more.
